Cutting stage
Lilac opens very little after it is cut. When shipped in water it can be cut at a later stage. When shipped in a dry pack, it is cut less open. We usually ship double lilac about 60% open and single lilac 30% open.
Bunching
A bunch of lilac consists of 5-10 stems depending how many flower heads (thryses) are on a stem (1-4 thryses/stem). We usually cut to 28” inches (70cm).
